Hello

Thanks for dropping by.

We all have our story; let me give you a glimpse into mine. Writing crept up on me one holiday a few years back when my mind was free of the everyday issues we normally encounter. My pen, yes, pen, flew across the page as my mind just poured out a humorous story that even had me laughing. However, let's begin at the beginning...

 My Story

From computers to crafting engaging stories, my journey to becoming a full-time fiction author has been anything but predictable! For thirty-five years, I navigated the world of IT, translating complex technology into clear, concise training manuals (hundreds of them!). But a creative fire was smouldering within, waiting for its chance to ignite.

That moment arrived in the summer of 2009. With only an A4 pad and a trusty ballpoint pen, I unleashed a surge of imagination. Forty thousand words spilt out of me in a rush of pure creative energy – a stark contrast to the structured world of technical writing. The thrill of uncovering the story as I wrote, guided by the compelling characters that came alive, was exhilarating. I was hooked.

My debut novel, the award-winning Hole Opportunity, was the first result of this newfound passion. It was followed a year later by The Unexpected Consequences of Iron Overload, a paranormal romantic spoof thriller with a purpose. This book is close to my heart, written to raise awareness of haemochromatosis, a genetic medical condition, and to support the Haemochromatosis Society.

The Hole Trilogy continued with A Tunnel is Only a Hole on Its Side and reached its humorous conclusion with Dynamite Makes a Hole. But my creative pursuits didn't end there. For the next eighteen months, my attention shifted towards a younger audience. With seven grandchildren, I am passionate about supporting emotional well-being and positive values, which led me to create The Billy Growing Up series – eight books intended to resonate with children aged 6 to 10.

My current projects include writing a number of books for Gen Z - The Eyes-Wide-Open series - three so far completed. Second, I'm writing a stage play, 'Row Over to My Island,' about the asymmetry of relationships. Third, I've created a screenplay for a TV pilot of the Hole Opportunity. And finally, I'm editing and publishing a three-book series for a victim of far-right attacks who suffered unbelievable hardship growing up in the East End of London during the 1970s and 80s - Unbreakable, by Jag Singh.
