Haemochromatosis (Iron Overload)

The condition is real - Genetic Haemochromatosis (GH) or Iron Overload - and is close to my heart since being diagnosed 16 years ago. Haemochromatosis doesn't grab headlines, but as the general population grows older,   GH has a more significant impact.  It is a ‘slow burner,’ meaning excess iron builds throughout life, and takes many decades before it becomes a real threat.  Therefore, the condition is not perceived by the media, health workers or the general public in the same way as many other life-threatening illnesses. However, an estimated 3.3 million people in Europe and North America are unaware they have the condition, and for them,  it's getting worse.

This book is not a medical book as such, but a paranormal, romantic, humorous, thriller  about a guy with too much iron in his body, and what happens to him as a consequence.

I wrote this book to generate awareness for the condition, and to promote the Haemochromatosis Society.  I chose humour as my approach since unlike other ways winding down at the end of the day, it’s free, has no side effects and does you a power of good.  I believe this paranormal, spoof thriller with a love interest, hits the spot from all angles.

I want to thank you for acquiring the book. I encourage you to tell your friends and family.  Remembering the more copies read – paperback or eBook versions – the heigher the awareness, and potentially, the greater the suffering saved. If you could see your way to writing an Amazon or Goodreads review the karma would be with you always.

To find out more visit the Haemochromatosis Society’s website. It's remit is raising awareness, education for doctors and sufferers, supporting research and providing information and support for affected families.
